The Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia is organizing the project under the auspices of the NATO Public Diplomacy Division, entitled: “Regional Approach to the Smart Defence and Sharing and Pooling Initiatives - Possibilities and Directions”. This project will take place at hotel “Drim”, Struga, the Republic of Macedonia, from 17.10.2014 – 19.10.2014.

The goal of this project is to exchange the national views and opinions on topic related issues and to offer recommendations to the US – Adriatic Charter Nations plus interested nations “A5+ format“ for future development of the regional approach to the Smart Defence and Sharing and Pooling Initiatives. Taking into account the limited national resources and the budget challenges, the workshop can serve as a platform that can instigate a common approach for the countries of the region which can join forces and resources in order to implement effective projects.

In that spirit please be so kind to send us in advance your papers on the subjects listed below (1000-2000 words in length, in English language):

-    Lessons learned and best practice related to the contribution in NATO and EU led operations
-    National view on Smart Defence and Sharing and Pooling Initiatives
-    National Policy, National legislature, and Plans for capabilities development
-    Government structure and Responsibilities;
-    Human and Material Resources;
-    Recommendations for future joint activities in the spirit of the NATO Smart Defence and EU Sharing and Pooling Initiatives
-    Recommendations for development of joint capacities and capabilities in the spirit of the NATO Smart Defence and EU Sharing and Pooling Initiatives.
