The regional training “Implementation of international humanitarian law in contemporary challenges of NATO-led operations” was held on 5-6 June 2013 in the Army Hall, Skopje Macedonia. It was organized by Ministry of Defence, Macedonia and Military academy “Mihailo Apostolski”.

There were two working days on the regional training.
The first day started with opening remarks from the State secretary of defence Mr. Sasho Stefanovski, the Head of human resources Mrs. Julijana Stojanovska and the project coordinator Ltc Metodi Hadji Janev. Furthermore speakers on the first day were: - Ltc, Assistant Professor Metodi Hadji Janev , Military academy “Mihailo Apostolski” - Mr. Pavle Bogoevski, ICRC Macedonia - Ltc. Nikola Kletnikov, Military academy “Mihailo Apostolski” - Col. Associate Professor Slavko Angeleski , Military academy “Mihailo Apostolski”
On the first day, the panelists were speaking about adapting the new security challenges and the future of NATO-led operations, understanding the international humanitarian law, the role that the ICRC has in IHL, the military decision making process, modern technology and IHL and NATO counterterrorist operations.

Speakers on the second working day were: - Col., Associate professor Orce Popovski , Military academy “Mihailo Apostolski” - MA Vesna Poposka, MIT University, YATA Macedonia - Maj, Assistant professor Mitko Bogdanovski, Military academy “Mihailo Apostolski” - Maj. Jugoslav Achkovski, Military academy “Mihailo Apostolski” - Mrs. Marija Jankuloska, Law Faculty “Justinian I” – Skopje, YATA Macedonia
The panelists on the second day were speaking about the Environmental protection and the connection with the IHL, Cyber protection, cyber threats and about the target killing operations and drone attacks in accordance with the rule of IHL.
The two-day training has the goal of introducing to the participants modern challenges that appear during NATO-led operations with special accent on the challenges from the international humanitarian law.
Representative from YATA Macedonia on this training was Mr. Hristijan Petrusev.
