NATO SPS Programme “Information Day” Print

The NATO SPS Programme in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia organized the first open “Information Day” in the Republic of Macedonia. The event was held today, 03.06.2013 (Monday) in the Army Hall, Skopje.

The SPS “Information Day” provided an overview of the NATO SPS Programme and look at how NATO addresses Emerging Security Challenges through scientific cooperation with partners.

During the event two high NATO representatives from the SPS Programme addressed the audience and explained the Programme. Key note speaker was:
•    Dr. Deniz Yuksel – Beten, Senior Science for Peace and Security (SPS) and Partnership Cooperation Advisor.
•    Dr. Eyup Kuntay Turmus, NATO SPS Science Advisor

On behalf of the Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia, Col. Ljube Dukoski has presented the implemented NATO Advanced Research Workshop:
 “Sustained Emergency Relief – Regionally Developed Capacities”. As acting Co – Director of the project, Col. Dukoski explained the goals, the discussions, the conclusions and recommendations that are result from the NATO ARW.
As second panelist, Lt. Col. Metodi Hadji Janev explained his role in the SPS project “Intelligence Sharing and Terrorism”, that was held in Ankara, Turkey.

On this event also there were presentations from Deputy Ministers of Defence and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Emil Dimitriev and Mr. Zoran Petrov. Also representatives from University “Goce Delcev”, University “Ss Cyril and Methodius”.
