The press conference for the NATO day – 4 April, celebrating the 64th anniversary from the Washington Treaty, was organized by the Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia and the Ministry of Defence. Participants at today’s press conference were:

• H.E. Talat Xhaferi, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia • Mr. Ismet Ramadani, Vice President of the Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia • Col. Aleksandar Aleksandrov, Chief of the NATO Liaison in Republic of Macedonia • PhD Boris Murgoski, Dean of the Faculty of Security • PhD Metodi Hadji Janev, Military Academy, Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia
The press conference was moderated by Ilija Djugumanov.
First speaker was the Minister of Defence, Talat Xhaferi. He emphasized the fact that in the 64 years of existence, NATO has shown that can protect the security and the stability of its own members, that has capacity to enlarge and accept new members and with that to increase the zone of democracy, security and stability in Europe.

Furthermore the minister explained the cooperation with NATO and how it will continue. The priorities for the Ministry are the acceleration of the euro – atlantic integrations and reaching interoperability.
Mr. Ramadani, from the perspective of the Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia explained the road of the integrations. As part of the Parliament starting from 1993 until today, the motivation is still the same. That led to be part from the forming of the Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia.

Col. Aleksandrov in his speech has openly praised the work of the Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia and stated that in every report for NATO the activities are included. He also praised the will and intensity shown by the Ministry of Defence. As important event, Col. Aleksandrov has supported the Social Media Network – Atlantica!

A next panelist was PhD Boris Murgoski, Dean of the Faculty for Security. He briefly explained how the Faculty for Security intends to engage more actively in the euro – integration. Also he praised the Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia and the Memorandum for cooperation that was signed between the two institutions.

On the end PhD Metodi Hadji Janev, has emphasized the work done by the Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia in the past year and most importantly the work with the youth on the Post ISAF project which included regional research, regional conference and final publication.

As last part of the press conference was the signing of the Memorandum for cooperation between Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia and Faculty for Security – Skopje.
