With the intensification of the activities which are important for the integration of the country in NATO and the involvement of the Macedonian Armed Forces in different peace keeping missions throughout the world, the need for increased knowledge in International Humanitarian Law for all those who are dealing with the issues related to the NATO integration, security and peace issues, becomes very important.

The Macedonian Red Cross represents main actor in the activities for dissemination of the International Humanitarian Law in the country.

In this light, Euro – Atlantic Council of Macedonia in cooperation with the Macedonian Red Cross organized one day training for International Humanitarian Law, on the following topic:

“NATO and the International Humanitarian Law”

Despite the traditional part for the basics of IHL, the workshop has included challenges for IHL in contemporary context, especially the aspect of the peace keeping operations and countering terrorism.

The training was held on 02.04.2013 (Tuesday) in the premises of the Macedonian Red Cross.
