Condolences on passing away of Mr. Kiro Gligorov, the first president of independent Republic of Macedonia Print

Following the passing away of Mr.Kiro Gligorov, the first President of independent Republic of Macedonia, the Euro–Atlantic Council of Macedonia sent a letter of condolences to his family, expressing the importance of President Gligorov for the independence, development and international promotion of the Republic of Macedonia:


“President Gligorov was a great statesman and leader who succeeded even in the most critical moments of leading Macedonia to bring state decision beckoning to a true statesman, with a high level of national consciousness which contributed the Republic of Macedonia to be internationally recognized, to preserve its independence and open its path to the euro-atlantic integrations.

President Gligorov was a President to all of the citizens of independent Macedonia. His achievements will remain engraved in the recent Macedonian history as the achievements of a persistent, reasonable and wise politician with great love and knowledge for the development of his country as modern European democracy.”
